As Senior Brand and Marketing Advisor, we are looking for a brand and marketing expert motivated by the opportunity to work with one of New Zealand's iconic brands across a diverse portfolio of work. You will play a key role in the development and delivery of strategic brand and marketing activities, alongside the rest of the Brand and Marketing team and the wider Digital, Brand and Marketing team. You will work across brand, campaigns, product marketing, and commercial partner marketing workstreams, ensuring that your work is aligned with wider strategic goals and objectives. You will also be a mentor to junior team members.
The position will be focused on:
Providing strategic brand and marketing advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.Scoping, leading, implementing, and evaluating national campaigns and marketing activities that engage the public in conservation and build familiarity with DOC and our work.Ensuring co-creation or collaboration with iwi, hapu, and whanau is undertaken in a way that is consistent with being an honourable Treaty partner.Leading marketing activity with commercial partners and other third parties.Using research, data, and insights to inform direction and decision-making and to measure impact. This includes leading research projects as needed.We are looking for someone who already has experience working at a senior advisor level. The right candidate will need to be able to juggle multiple projects, relationships, and priorities, as well as provide strategic advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. A collaborative, personable, and strategic approach will be key to being successful in this role.

At least five years' experience developing, managing, and delivering marketing strategies and multi-channel campaigns.At least five years' experience managing a brand, including strategy development and implementation.Experience with sponsor or partner marketing.Experience with engagement, product, and behaviour change marketing.Experience mentoring or developing more junior team members.Highly collaborative and consultative - with successful experience working with and influencing stakeholders at different levels and in dynamic environments.Strong critical thinking and risk radar - to analyse complex information from a variety of sources, identify opportunities and risks, and provide impactful solutions.Strong organisation skills with proven ability to work at pace and manage several priorities simultaneously, as well as a willingness to flex and adapt as priorities change.A natural team player with the ability to work across teams and directorates.A combination of experience from across sectors, including public and private.As a Treaty partner, an understanding of matauranga Maori and te ao Maori is important in this mahi. At DOC we seek to bring te ao Maori into all our work and ensure iwi, hapu, and whanau are enabled and supported to share their stories and ultimately increase the impact of our storytelling.
