Senior Assistant Accountant

As the Senior Assistant Accountant your responsibility will encompass ownership of the AP process with a focus on improving efficiencies, leading and managing the team while enhancing productivity and optimising workload distribution. Based at our National Support Office in East Tamaki you will play a pivotal role in not only overseeing the AP function but also assist in various financial operations such as month end.The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity to problem solve, a strong people leader and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.Your responsibilities will include:Lead and develop the AP team by driving staff engagement, encouraging growth and creating a high-performance and positive work environment.Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining high accuracy and quality while meeting business information and reporting requirements within deadlines.Manage and maintain vendor relationships, promptly address queries, resolve payment issues and invoice discrepancies, and negotiate payment terms effectively.Prepare and analyse financial reports including aging reports and cash flow forecasts and identify insights.Support the Accounts Payable team and wider business with queries and invoice reconciliations.Process and reconcile sundry and stock invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with product numbers.About youStrong high volume Accounts Payable experience, with advanced proficiency in reconciliations and investigative tasks.Proven leadership with experience in management teams, overseeing staff development and driving operational growth.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities is essential, with desirable experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.Exceptional written and verbal communicator, skilled with interacting and engaging across all organisational levels.Business Degree in Accounting, Commerce or related field is highly advantageous.What we offerCompetitive Remuneration, Work Life Balance, Permanent full-time employment Monday to Friday.7.5% benefits package designed to support your health and financial security - fully covered Southern Cross Health Insurance, Superannuation Savings Scheme, Life and Disability Insurance coverage, and KiwiSaver.Opportunities for training, growth, and advancement.Company buying privileges across all CARTERS stores.Apply Now - Advance Your Career with Us!Please be advised only applicants who are currently based in New Zealand with legal valid working rights will be considered.
