About the role: Join Ventia as a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Accounting Team. This position will support the Finance Manager to lead a small but motivated team of professionals.
This position requires a deep knowledge of accounting processes and will be responsible for ensuring that the business continues to operate strong processes and maintain the accuracy and integrity of transactions and balances in accordance with established financial policies and practices.
Based at our Beautiful North Sydney head office right across the road from the train station we offer a flexible work atmosphere with time in the office and work from home options.
What you'll be doing: Review and prepare timely reconciliations of payroll account balances to ensure integrity of balance sheet.
Leadership and hands on support to ensure month-end tasks are completed to quality standard in accordance with the month-end timetable (e.g. superannuation, payroll tax, portable long service leave schemes, redundancy schemes etc.)
Identify process improvement opportunities as well as implementation of automation and improve procedure efficiencies.
Prepare and post journals to clear discrepancies. Highlight material reconciling and recommend corrective action.
Ensure relevant payroll accounting processes are operating in line with Ventia financial policies and standards.
Support Finance Manager - Payroll Accounting in determining and creating robust payroll accounting discipline and processes that result in ensuring compliance is met in all areas and on a timely basis.
Work closely with the Group Payroll team to increase compliance and reduce risk.
Liaise with the external auditors to respond to all audit queries on a timely basis.
Assist in developing reporting processes and documenting procedures for the purpose of maintaining the efficient flow of financial processes.
About you: Tertiary Qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Commerce (CA or CPA Qualified)
Previous experience of a similar role within a complex organisation.
Experience in driving efficiencies to business processes.
SAP system experience preferred.
