In addition to ensuring we have safe drivers on our roads, getting a driver licence opens the door to many opportunities - jobs, education, support for whanau and healthcare. Our Community Based Driver Licensing initiatives work towards addressing equity and inclusion challenges for obtaining a drivers licence in under-licensed communities. It's a partnership led by NZTA Waka Kotahi involving six government agencies active in driver licensing.
The Senior Analyst, Community Based Driver Licensing Initiatives will be working on the establishment of best-practice investment decision-making practices. This includes designing, developing and delivering the frameworks, practices and processes needed to make decisions on which areas of New Zealand are at the highest need of support, and therefore where our funding and resources should be targeted, those needed to assess proposals and make good investment decisions, as well as the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our investment in these initiatives. The design, development and delivery of these will happen in parallel to these processes occurring across the next year, and therefore will need to be agile and iterative.
We are looking for someone who loves to build frameworks, practices and processes and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, needing to work directly with groups across NZTA, other government agencies and, in some cases, directly with community providers.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in developing frameworks, practices and processes Experience in utilising human centred design approach and agile process development The ability to translate complex ideas into audience appropriate language & documents Strong critical thinking skills and application of problem solving techniques Your ability to build intentional relationships and work collaboratively with others A strong track record of delivery from your previous roles The following would also be an advantage:
A relevant qualification Knowledge of the driver licensing system and/or regulation Knowledge and experience of applying Te Ao Maori principles It is expected the holder of this role will be privy to classified information from time to time and understands the New Zealand governments classification system and how to maintain information in line with current policies and requirements.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
