We care about the wellbeing and success of our people and provide a supportive and inclusive working environment where people can thrive and be who they are.Wellington basedAn opportunity to make a real impactFixed term/secondment until June 2025The Maori, Communities and Partnerships Group is responsible for building capability across MSD to support the aspirations of Maori and connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.Te Pae Tawhiti – Our Future is about the Ministry of Social Development's (MSD) future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders. Te Pae Tawhiti transformation programme is a multi-year journey that will deliver services that are easier, more accessible, and better integrated across MSD.Kotahitanga is one of the service streams within Te Pae Tawhiti, focusing on how we are stronger when we work together with partners - external groups, organisations, and agencies to improve the delivery of our services to New Zealanders. MSD has a large and diverse range of partners that we work with in spaces such as employment, housing, capability building, services for disabled people, community services, and more.As a Senior Advisor, you will provide key advice on how we can innovate, design, and test our service changes, ensuring they align with MSD's strategic direction and commitment to improving equity of outcomes.Your valuable advice will shape how we approach our partnerships in future by identifying where we can improve our existing commissioning and partnering processes. You'll work across Kotahitanga, Te Pae Tawhiti, and wider MSD initiatives. This is your chance to contribute to meaningful change.We're looking for a variety of skillsets and previous experiences, so you'll demonstrate capability in some or all of the below:Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities; you're comfortable with ambiguity and finding ways to navigate it.Experience in the creation and application of funding models for public services is a must.Strong relationship management skills, coupled with experience in engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You have an aptitude for learning from, and influencing, different perspectives. Experience of engaging with Pacific communities and iwi/Maori is advantageous.Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. You have a keen interest in addressing complex problems.Ability to lead work and mentor others.Excellent communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex information clearly.
