We're seeking a proactive and strategic Senior Advisor Social Media and Digital Marketing to join our team! Enhance our social media and broader digital marketing presence and ensure our channels reflect our values and objectives.

The opportunity As a Senior Advisor Social Media and Digital Marketing, you'll drive the strategy, management, and optimisation of our NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) social media channels and help us expand our digital marketing function.
You'll shape the direction for each platform, develop content calendars, and ensure our messaging is engaging and consistent.
Collaborating with content creators, you'll craft compelling posts, launch targeted campaigns, and boost audience engagement.
You'll monitor performance, report on key metrics, and provide expert advice on managing risks and enhancing our reputation.
Your role will also involve creating best practice policies, training staff, and continuously refining our social media and broader digital marketing approach to strengthen our connection with the public and effectively communicate key transport messages.
About you To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Proven expertise and experience working on social media within a large and complex organisation, ideally within the public sector. Strong technical expertise in best practice social media channel management and development. A strong understanding of risk management and the ability to manage and escalate risk where appropriate, balanced with the need to create engaging content. Experience in developing and implementing paid social media marketing strategies and plans. Experience and technical expertise in other digital marketing disciplines beyond social media. Highly effective written and oral presentation and communications and advocacy skills. Highly developed and effective influencing, networking and interpersonal skills. Ability to create and propose innovative solutions to challenges as they arise. Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You'll also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
