Our Regulatory Systems team helps to bring the EPA's vision to life by developing the EPA's regulatory frameworks and delivering on the EPAs responsibilities and strategic direction.

About the role | Mo te tunga
We are looking for a Senior Advisor to provide expert specialist regulatory advice for the EPA by supporting complex policy programmes on complicated issues with significant sensitivity and risk. Of particular focus is how the EPA continually improves its regulatory performance to influence improved environmental protection and reduced regulatory risk.

About you | Mohou ake
Ideally you will have strategic policy and/or regulatory systems experience, with experience in the natural resources sector preferred. Alongside this, we are looking for an individual with a range of skills and capabilities including:

Experience in regulatory policy development and implementation.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to and influence change across the public sector in regulatory matters.

Proven background in regulatory stewardship and managing regulatory risks.

Experience in connecting and bringing people, networks and perspectives together across a regulatory environment.

Seasoned professional experience in the public sector.

Sound knowledge of the machinery of Government.

Experience with the HSNO Act desirable (Hazardous Substances and New Organisms).

A tertiary qualification in a relevant area of expertise (environmental management, science, public policy, economics or law).

Salary range
$100,779 - $151,169 per annum (midpoint $125,974). This is the full salary range. Appointments are made within the range depending on skills and experience.
