We are looking for an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to join our newly formed Waste Sector Policy team.Our team is focused on supporting and working with the sector to develop policy which:lowers waste emissions, including biogenic methane from organic waste and f-gases from industrial systems.reduces construction and demolition going to landfills.We are also responsible for developing the National Disaster Waste and Debris Management Plan.
This plan is essential as it will outline how to deal with waste in a natural disaster or climatic event.The Waste Sector Policy team is responsible for:Delivering this Government's priorities and implementing the actions outlined in the soon to be published second Emissions Reduction Plan.Providing high quality policy advice and analysis to Ministers.Leading the development of robust evidence-based regulatory and non-regulatory policy solutions.Working closely with key Waste Sector stakeholders.Working across the wider Ministry and aligning our work with the wider waste management system and sector.We are seeking an experienced senior policy advisor with:demonstrated experience of developing end-to-end complex policy within the public sector.experience using a range of analytical frameworks, including developing new frameworks.ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.knowledge of policy interventions that will reduce emissions from the waste sector is advantageous but not required.Salary range for this role is $108,976 to $132,277 pa.
