Te Kura Pacific Justice Sector Programme - Senior Advisor - Ina'ilauFulltime position opportunity (Te Whanganui-A-Tara Wellington)Te Haeata/The OpportunityThe Pacific Justice Sector Programme (PJSP) is a development initiative supported by New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and the Ministry of Justice in Aotearoa/ New Zealand. The PJSP provides leadership development, training, tools, and support for judicial officers, court staff, and legal advocates across 15 Pacific nations.The PJSP has an enhanced women and justice programme named Ina'ilau. Ina'ilau focuses on improving access to justice for women and children in the Pacific. This is achieved by supporting women and children to have greater practical access to justice through formal and community-based justice systems, empowering women in Pacific justice sectors through professional development opportunities, and increasing the capacity of justice sector actors to support the rights of women and children effectively.The Senior Advisor Ina'ilau will support the Director PJSP and work with the Programme Lead and Advisor, Ina'ilau, to support the rollout of Ina'ilau activities across a number of countries in the Pacific. Responsibilities include leading partner engagement within agreed Ina'ilau countries and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of the overall Ina'ilau programme. Travel to the Pacific may be necessary to help oversee and support programme activities.To be successful in this role you will:Understand and respect all Pacific cultures and equity issues affecting Pacific people and their relationships, with experience in Pacific engagement;Have a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in law and/or gender and development;Have experience in programme design and managing delivery of complex projects, preferably in a Pacific context;Understand international development principles and practices;Possess sophisticated interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain trusted and productive working relationships at a senior level.The appointing salary for this role will be between $97,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.Applications close on 21 November 2024; however, we will be reviewing CVs as they come in and inviting successful candidates to interview before the close date.
