We currently have a unique opportunity for a highly analytical accounting professional, who is passionate and knowledgeable about Climate Change, to support the bank to understand the data relating to our carbon footprint.
What are the 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Accurately accounting for BNZ Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and measuring, managing, and reporting the impact on the changing climate is increasingly a core business activity.
Working with internal and external stakeholders to help understand GHG emissions of BNZ's operations, customers, and suppliers.
Define, quantify, analyse, and report on BNZ's GHG emissions.
Complete GHG calculations and support the development and monitoring of decarbonisation targets.
Lead the development and preparation of internal frameworks, guidance documents, and training required to increase emissions reporting capability across BNZ.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
We are looking for someone who is curious, with a self-starting attitude, strong critical thinking skills and who enjoys solving problems.
To be successful in this role, you will have good knowledge of sustainability, climate change and the impacts of greenhouse gases (GHG), as well as an understanding of GHG reporting and relevant international frameworks and protocols.
You will also be an excellent communicator, able to convey complex issues/data into simple language for others to comprehend, and confidently build relationships across the Bank, to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
