The Opportunity As the Accountant reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting for the Veovo Entities (business segment of Gentrack Group). Your responsibilities will extend to preparation of the inter-company recharges and indirect tax filing, survey filing and any other ad-hoc tasks. Beyond operational tasks, you will contribute to leadership initiatives, driving change management, and focusing on continuous improvement to enhance overall efficiency within the team.
The Specifics Perform full process for month-end and year-end closing including BS reconciliations for Veovo business segments. Oversee day to day accounting in NetSuite. Perform monthly reconciliations for review. Ensure global compliance deadlines are met and prepare for global compliance filings including GST/VAT returns, FBT returns and statutory surveys. Drive improvements and increase efficiency within the accounting function through collaboration and systems upgrades. Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis and research related to finance and business operations. Involvement in various finance projects and initiatives with exposure to other functions within the business. What we're looking for Professional experience Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Solid technical background in IFRS, including revenue and lease accounting knowledge. Experience in technology or professional services organisations. Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in accounting. Background in Big-4 audit firms is an advantage. Advanced proficiency in Excel. Professional accounting qualification is required. (CAANZ or equivalent) Hands on experience in preparing month end closing and reconciliation. Ideally familiar with NetSuite. Demonstrated passion for excellence and a commitment to achieving the highest standards. High levels of energy, sound judgment, and determination to achieve objectives with a sense of urgency. Being in a global company, must be willing to work flexible hours and able to work with external accountants and auditors. Organised, excellent priorities and relationship management and interpersonal skills. Open-minded and consultative approach to problem-solving. Professional and respectful communication, both verbal and written. Ability to provide and receive positive and constructive feedback.
