Cyber crime is on the rise, and they are rapidly growing, which means endless opportunities for career advancement within the organisation!The RoleAs the Security Operations Centre Manager, you will oversee a team of 19 skilled cybersecurity analysts within the SOC, ensuring services meet and exceed client Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role is pivotal in delivering world-class cyber defense while focusing on continuous improvement in client environments. Based in Auckland, you'll work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, ensuring operations are efficient, proactive, and aligned with MSSP best practices. You'll be a strong, hands-on leader, setting a high standard in incident response, threat detection, and client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Manage and inspire a team of 19 SOC analysts, providing clear direction, mentorship, and support to ensure excellence in performance and service delivery.Ensure all cyber defense operations consistently meet client SLAs, with a commitment to delivering timely, high-quality service and clear communication.Lead the team in incident detection, response, and resolution, acting as the primary escalation point for advanced security incidents and technical challenges.Regularly review and refine security processes to drive continuous improvement, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across all client engagements.Maintain strong relationships with clients, actively seeking feedback to improve their security posture, optimise threat prevention, and demonstrate ongoing value.Oversee security metrics and reporting, ensuring data-driven insights are communicated to clients and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.Promote continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen client environments, regularly updating security playbooks, and optimising incident response strategies.Ensure compliance with ISO27001 and other relevant standards, upholding robust risk management practices across the SOC.Who You Are:Extensive experience in cybersecurity operations management, with a focus on SOC or cyber defense within an MSSP environment.Proven ability to manage complex service delivery against SLAs, prioritising client satisfaction and operational excellence.A skilled leader who can engage, motivate, and command respect from a team of analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Confident handling difficult conversations and adept at providing constructive feedback to drive growth and development.Strong experience in incident response management, including advanced threat detection, triage, and escalation processes.Knowledgeable in ISO27001 standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices in cyber defense.A results-oriented, client-focused mindset, with a keen ability to tailor solutions to meet each client's unique security needs and challenges.What's in it for you?Learning and development budgets for professional developmentInternal career progression pathwaysHybrid/Flexible workingA range of retail discounts and benefitsEnhanced parental leave entitlementsLife InsuranceWellbeing initiativesEAP servicesGroup discounted medical insuranceMatched Employer superannuation contribution up to 5%Unfortunately, this position does not offer sponsorship opportunities.
