This position requires close attention to detail to maintain accurate data management of our patient information care system and transcribing of medical documents. You will provide administrative support to our consultants and clinical teams, assist with managing patients from initial specialist appointment, through the hospital service, and back into the community.Our preferred applicants will be required to undertake a computer skills assessment.About the Team/Service/LocationOur Clinical Support Services play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. We provide a great place to work with professional development and career growth opportunities, job security, and workplace wellness programmes.About you:As Secretarial Support, your duties will include:Providing high standard administrative support to clinical teams, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and preparing medical documentation.Ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance of patient records.Liaising with patients, families, and healthcare providers to address inquiries and facilitate communication.Skills and experienceProven experience in administrative or secretarial roles, preferably in a healthcare setting.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with healthcare management systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.A typing speed of 50 words per minute or more is essential.Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage but not essential.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth NZ is the weaving of wellnesses.
