The casual pool is made up of administrators and secretaries who work on assignments of varying lengths. They train with the staff member who's leaving and continue in the role until a permanent replacement is appointed. This can take several weeks or even several months while we find the right fit for the role.
As a casual staff member, you'll gain new skills and 'learn the ropes' across a range of admin roles and service areas. You can take a break between assignments or move onto your next assignment. You'll gain valuable insight into working as a hospital administrator.
Casual position (hours on an as-needed basis). The hours for this role could range daily from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday with possible weekend cover.

You will have the important task of providing administration and/or secretarial support to our clinical staff. This includes typing, filing, calling patients, coordinating clinics, supporting wards across all administration duties, data entry, maintaining patient details - just to mention a few of the tasks you will learn. It will provide you with insight into the health sector, utilizing our comprehensive training programme.
The commencing salary is dependent on your skill base but starts at $70,970 based on a 40-hour week. Our preferred candidates will be required to undertake a computer skills assessment.
To meet the requirements of this role, you will need to have knowledge of MS Office - Excel, Outlook, and Word. Having a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm is desirable, but that depends on the role covered.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
