What you will be doing | Nga whainga matua
Conduct research in fish cell biology, including cell isolation, culture, and characterization.
Develop and test new applications for fish cell lines to address aquaculture challenges.
Analyse experimental data, compile results, and independently evaluate findings.
Prepare peer-reviewed publications, funding proposals, and client reports.
Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and support R&D projects.
To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in molecular or cell biology (or related field) and hands-on experience in cell culture and advanced molecular techniques, including expertise with fish or vertebrate cell models. With a collaborative spirit and a commitment to sustainable aquaculture, you're ready to apply your analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to cutting-edge research. Additionally, you will:
Have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Be an effective written and verbal communicator, collaborative team player.
Have a commitment to sustainability, animal ethics, and cultural sensitivity.
Have at least 2 years relevant work experience preferred - ideally in an R&D environment, with a track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, presentations, and/or patents.
