We are seeking a passionate teacher and faith-filled Director of Religious Studies (DRS) to join our team. We are a coeducational, integrated Y1–6 school with a roll of 76 students.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced educator with a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and a dedication to fostering the spiritual and religious education of our students. The DRS will play a key role in promoting the special Catholic character of our school, working closely with staff, students, and our parish community to lead and guide our religious education programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the religious education curriculum across the school.
Fostering a strong Catholic ethos, grounded in the Dominican values.
Supporting and mentoring staff in their delivery of religious instruction.
Organising and leading school liturgies, Masses, Sacramental programme, and other faith-based events and initiatives.
Engaging with the wider school and parish community to strengthen our Catholic identity.
Providing pastoral care and spiritual leadership for students and staff as part of our leadership team.
Key Attributes:
Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and an active commitment to the teachings of the Church.
Leadership experience in a Catholic school setting, with the ability to inspire and guide others in their faith journey.
A passion for working with young people and fostering their spiritual and academic development.
Ability to build strong relationships within the school and parish communities.
This is a special character position, requiring a willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the school's Catholic character. The successful applicant must hold relevant NZ teaching registration.
The successful applicant would be a reflective, professional teaching in the Middle School. Someone who has initiative, adaptability, a sense of humour, strong curriculum knowledge, and experience, and the ability to differentiate classroom programmes.
