About the role
This role reports directly to the Global Director of Sales and Global Director of Marketing and works closely with the Queenstown General Manager. This role involves a wide variety of duties, including but not limited to delivering an in-resort and online presence, capturing and sharing appropriate brand-related content across social media and online channels. The successful candidate will also drive sales through in-resort information centres, accommodation providers, online tour operators, bus tour companies, conferences, and groups channels.
Both the marketing and sales components will take place across many mediums including, but not limited to physical and digital platforms, trade shows, information sessions, and online training.
The position also works very closely with Guest Services to manage relationships, support sales, manage groups, and fill Guest Services shifts as required.
This is a Queenstown office-based role.
About You
This role will suit someone who has a passion for all things creative, someone with a can-do attitude who can work independently and take initiative.
Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to organise your workload while retaining a strong attention to detail.
If you're someone who is proficient with all things digital, social, and e-commerce as well as traditional marketing platforms, and have a focus on account management, business development & sales with the drive to make things happen.
Qualifications and experience:
Relevant qualification in Sales and Marketing or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in a Sales and Marketing environment with all aspects of both departments
2+ years experience in the travel & tourism industry (ideally a Ziplining company)
Enthusiasm and energy for the role, along with a passion for representing the company/brand and sustainability focus
Capable of building strong relationships and working effectively both with outside professionals & partners, and within a small team
Experience in the coordination of marketing & sales projects in general (promotions, print, web, social media, audio-visual etc.)
Excellent time management and organisational skills; must be detail oriented
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, professionally, and accurately both verbally and in written form in English (other languages are welcome)
Ability to have a flexible schedule in order to accommodate events and special requests
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and a creative suite package, e.g., Canva, Illustrator or InDesign
Must have a valid driver's licence
Ability to show a professional demeanour at all times
Ability to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities
An understanding of the Ziptrek brand and products
