Bay of Islands Hospital – Northland, New Zealand Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Te Tai Tokerau (Northland) Rural Hospital Medicine Based in Kawakawa – Bay of Islands, New Zealand We are seeking a Rural Health Medical Specialist or Medical Officer to join the team at Bay of Islands Hospital.
This is a permanent role based in the Mid-North region of Northland – New Zealand.

Bay of Islands Hospital is located in Kawakawa and provides care to the people of the Mid North region.
The 20-bed hospital includes comprehensive medical and paediatric services with all the supporting services and also provides a substantial community health service.
The rural hospital is largely supported by Whangarei Hospital in providing secondary care services.
We are looking for a dynamic team player to provide medical care to acutely ill patients in the A&M department as well as the General Ward.
Our team is close-knit and our rural specialists are role models and mentors; everyone becomes mates very quickly to work as one.

To be considered, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Rural Hospital Medicine scope of practice.
