Newly created leadership role Senior Revenue Collection and Debt Management Opportunity Wellington / Auckland / Palmerston North Location Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity: Sitting within our Customer and Services Group, this newly created role is fundamental in the delivery of Revenue and Debt Management services (including Debt Collection) and Tolling Operations for the New Zealand Transport Agency.

The role is responsible for the design and implementation of a modern operational strategy, delivering a fit for purpose and robust system which effectively recovers outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships and meeting compliance with regulatory requirements.

Working closely with our Financial Operations and Regulatory teams, you will ensure that legislation is fit for purpose, processes are robust and revenue collection is optimized as well as working closely with our Information System team to ensure the systems are designed to deliver optimum performance.

Ko koe tenei About you: To be successful in this role, in addition to your senior leadership experience, you will bring:

An in-depth knowledge of revenue/debt collection, associated Acts, Rules and Regulations and understanding their impact on the operational environment. Comfort and experience in liaising with, providing advice and recommendations to senior managers and executives on Revenue & Debt Management and Tolling Operations initiatives. Experience leading and developing strategy within a large and complex organisation. Significant experience developing highly motivated teams and delivering high-quality customer service. Highly developed analytical skills that enable contribution to the development of recommendations for policy, generating and evaluating alternative solutions and making recommendations in an operational environment. Significant experience in identifying and assessing business risks in a pragmatic and timely way. You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

Deliver great transactional products and services through operational excellence and a customer focus. Support the effective operation of the land transport system by making transactional and backend services simple, easy to use and effective for the user. Continue to improve the experience of people who interact with Waka Kotahi and our services and products by driving efforts to assess and elevate areas where the customer experience can be optimized to make customer interactions consistent, simple, and positive experiences. Develop a service and back-end delivery capability to support effective and efficient operation of new and emerging functions for Waka Kotahi including licensing, ERP incentive schemes, National Ticketing, and Safety Camera Systems and ticketing. Create our customer and services strategy with others to deliver an integrated customer and user experience informed by understanding our customer requirements to advise the business on how we can strengthen our focus in this area.
