Store Manager needed to join busy HAWERA store. This role is responsible for running the store independently and ensuring that the overall operational goals are met.Daily Tasks Involved in the role:Look for opportunities to improve procedures and make improvements to purchasing and marketing policies.Manage purchasing ordering and monitoring incoming goods.Promote and advertise the store's goods and services.Maintain security controls, cash, keys, alarms, and stock and financial responsibilities.Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control and pricing including implementing stock control systems and stock tracking.Serve customers, advise and recommend products, and add on products.Follow up on customer complaints/comments quickly.Staff Management: Recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and motivating employees as well as conducting appraisals and performance reviews and providing or organizing training and development.Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.Schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions.Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.Ensure availability of merchandise; determine and maintain inventory levels.Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities.Determine needed sales promotions; authorize clearance sales; study trends and the market pulse.Ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements are adhered to.Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.1-2 years of management experience within the retail/hospitality industry is preferred and qualification to level 6.Must be available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays.
