As Retail Manager of our Albany Hospice Shop, you'll have a strong sense of purpose helping to connect the community with the care hospice provides and contributing to raising a third of Harbour Hospice's annual funding needs. You'll enjoy an extremely busy and varied day and be able to inject your personality into your role. You'll work with volunteers who freely give their time and energy, and this will make for some very special and unique relationships. Best of all, you'll join an organisation where your work matters.
Mo te tunga | About the roleYou'll be responsible for the overall running of the shop and ensuring a fantastic customer experience for donors, customers and volunteers alike. You'll be on your feet all day, sorting and merchandising donations, delegating to your volunteer team, and ensuring they get a break and a cuppa, and completing timesheets and cashing up,. Each day you will roll up your sleeves, lead by example and get involved in everything that's required in running a successful pre-loved fashion retail shop.
This is a permanent role working Monday – Thursday, from 8:30am – 4:30pm (32 hours per week).
He korero mou| About youAn experienced fashion Retail Manager, you live and breathe great customer service. You get on well with all walks of life and can motivate and lead a team of dedicated volunteers in a collaborative, open and positive way. You will demonstrate:
A track record of achieving strong sales results Lead by example, get stuck in and take initiative. You're not easily fazed. Highly organised and ability to work at pace in a busy environment Naturally inquisitive. Able to identify brands and appraise vintage treasures and their value Visual merchandising experience. Ability to create retail environments that are captivating, enticing and relevant You'll also have flexibility to change your hours on the odd occassion, to cover leave and to provide extra support as needed.

Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites. Our specialist services, given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, cultural, psychological and social support, physiotherapy, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more.
