Job Description
We are looking to fill a number of roles, including ongoing casual Retail Assistants and Summer Season Casual Retail Assistant positions. We require staff who are available to support our 364-day-a-year, 7-day-a-week operation.
Within the role, enthusiasm, warmth and flexibility are a must, as is the ability to confidently handle situations that may arise. Led by the Retail Manager, you will work within the Retail Team to champion our goals of becoming the preferred cultural retail shopping experience in Tamaki Makaurau.
You will play a key role in supporting your fellow team members' mission to enhance customer experience through our role as storytellers and the connections we make with customers through the artists we support and the products we promote. You will work closely within our team to achieve sales targets and share in the day-to-day retail sales and store operations.
Availability to provide support during the Christmas holiday period is essential. When providing your cover letter, please outline your availability between the months of November and January (including over the New Year's period). Summer Casual team members can expect to receive a varied number of hours week by week, adapting to the needs of the business.

A confident and engaging manner with the ability to work with a diverse client, customer, team, and supplier base.
Ability to demonstrate proactive awareness and engagement with a wide range of cultures and associated protocol and traditions within Auckland, with reference to the Maori Dimension (He Korahi Maori) and Pacific Dimension (Teu le Va).
A positive attitude and desire to enhance Auckland Museum's reputation for excellence.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement approach to your work, with a high level of attention to detail, organisational skills, and awareness of visual merchandising techniques.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a way consistent with Museum values, building a cohesive and productive team.
Computer literacy including POS, EFTPOS, social media familiarity, and the ability to further knowledge in these areas.
