Handling front-of-house and kitchen operations with other staff.
Taking reservations, greeting customers, and ensuring that excellent customer service is maintained with high standards and a can-do attitude.
Building good relations with customers, speaking with diners to address any issues, and resolving them efficiently and accurately.
Planning and organizing private events and celebrations.
Selecting, training, and supervising waiting and kitchen staff.
People management and leadership skills – should have a natural ability to lead and maintain a good rapport with other staff.
Analyzing staff performance, providing feedback, and improving productivity and quality.
Planning menu, pricing in consultation with the chef, and maintaining good food quality.
Keeping records of stock levels and financial transactions.
Taking ownership of budgets and cost control methods to reduce wastage and minimize expenses.
Promoting the restaurant to reach a broader audience through discounts, offers, and social media.
Managing a good image of the restaurant and recommending ways for improvement.
Should have good knowledge and understanding of Indian cuisines and variations.
Requirements for this position are as follows:
Clean character with no criminal background.
3 years of work experience in a restaurant setup.
LCQ certificate is a must and a duty manager certificate will be a bonus.
Should have a sound knowledge of Indian Kitchen including Tandoor Oven and other Indian kitchen items.
Good at managing and leading people.
Should have a valid New Zealand work visa; others will not be considered for this position.
For this job position, you are required to work a minimum of 30-35 hours per week (Rostered shift/includes weekends & public holidays shifts too). Pay rate: $27 to $30 per hour.
