As the Resource Management Planning Lead at Waitaki District Council, you will oversee the processing of land use and subdivision applications, ensuring compliance with the Resource Management Act. Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in planning, resource management, or surveying, with eligibility for membership in the New Zealand Planning Institute. A full NZ Driver's Licence is required. Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, manage high-performing planning processes, and implement strategic initiatives. Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the Resource Management Act and demonstrated experience with resource consent applications, policy development, and compliance monitoring. Strategic Thinking: A track record of navigating complex planning challenges and aligning work with broader Council goals and community needs. Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and the wider community.
