Job Description The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced learning and development professional to join the School of Graduate Studies in the role of Research Supervision Development Adviser.
This position may be suitable for a secondment.
The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) is the central service division responsible for managing, administrating, and enhancing doctoral research programmes at the University of Auckland.
SGS facilitates support and services for doctoral candidates and their supervisors across the institution.
The division works across the lifecycle of the doctoral programmes, from enrolment to completion.
The Research Supervision Development Adviser will be a subject matter expert in the area of postgraduate research supervision, who supports senior University leadership decision-making and policy, and leads the management of a capability development programme that enhances research supervision across the University of Auckland (the 'University').
The responsibilities of this position include the design, creation, delivery, and measurement of high-quality learning solutions that support the delivery of the University strategy and meet the expectations of stakeholders.
The position contributes more broadly to the School of Graduate Studies' programme of work and promotes and celebrates research supervision at the University.
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week role on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The salary range for this role is $80,900 - $99,900 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

  About the team | Mo to matou ropu The role will be reporting through to the Doctoral Experience Manager and you will be working with a close knit team of 5, where as a team you will be providing engagement and development opportunities for doctoral candidates and their supervisors.    About you | He korero mou You will need the ability to lead university-wide initiatives to improve the management and enhancement of research supervision, in alignment with the University's strategic plans.
You will need a history of managing complex programmes of work involving multiple stakeholders.
You will also need to be an expert in instructional design, learning curation, and have strong facilitation skills.
  Important Skills | Nga Pukenga Motuhake To be successful in this position, you will have: 5+ years' experience in a similar programme development role, with at least 3 years' responsibility for developing and managing a learning programme across a large and/or complex landscape.
Experience working in a postgraduate research or doctoral programme.
Experience in applying adult learning, and organisational development theories.
Experience consulting with key business stakeholders to identify capability needs and delivering the effective transfer of learning.
Expertise in design and creation of digital learning solutions.
Experience in academic development in a tertiary setting, including research supervision, will be an advantage.
