Position PurposeThrough responsive and professional administration support, and alongside the Programme Manager, Research and Innovation, contribute to and ensure the effective operational planning, delivery and implementation of research funding rounds and research projects.Our OrganisationAko Aotearoa is New Zealand's Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence.
Our mission is to work together with tertiary education providers and agencies to enhance the effectiveness of tertiary teaching and learning.
Established in 2007, Ako Aotearoa is funded through contracts with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and hosted by a Massey University-led consortium.LocationAko Aotearoa National Office, 119 Tasman Street, Mount Cook, Wellington, or by mutual agreement.Reports toProgramme Manager, Research and Innovation, Ako Aotearoa.Responsible forProviding administrative and operational support to the Programme Manager, Research and Innovation covering the planning, implementation, and delivery of Ako Aotearoa's Research and Innovation Agenda (AARIA) annual funding rounds and research projects; supporting the goal of AARIA which is to develop new knowledge to inform improved ways of teaching and learning in the tertiary sector of Aotearoa New Zealand.Key relationshipsProgramme Manager, Research and Innovation, Ako AotearoaDirector, Ako AotearoaAARIA Programme TeamOther Ako Aotearoa Managers and staffMassey University's relevant staff members in Researcher Support and DevelopmentExternal stakeholders, including researchers and research office staff from other organisations.Accountabilities1.
Coordinate and Assist Programme ManagerProvide exemplary operational and administrative support throughout the full research funding lifecycle.Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks.Contribute to applicant information management by preparing spreadsheets and reports.Systematically obtain and compile all necessary supporting documentation for funding applications.Ensure all AARIA governance, compliance guidelines and policies are adhered to.Cultivate an in-depth understanding of Ako Aotearoa's funding programmes and guidelines.2.
Project Coordination (Post-Award) SupportAdminister research projects and contracts to ensure that both parties meet their contractual obligations.Manage AARIA project documentation and maintain information within project management systems.Track project health, including expenditure against budget.Communicate with researchers to identify the need for contract variations.Collaborate with Communications and Marketing Team to maintain project visibility.Qualifications, Experience, CapabilitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.ExperienceAt least 2 years' providing support for complex projects in a tertiary or research-intensive environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.CapabilitiesDemonstrates awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and values its contribution to New Zealand.Strong communication skills adapted to different audiences.Proficient in managing information and using technology effectively.Strong project management skills and the ability to work in an agile manner.
