Pure Nutrition is a stand-alone entity that has built its own plant at Rolleston and the plant's initial capacity is expected to be around 20 million cans of milk formula per year.Our values are important to us, they underpin how we operate and the way we behave.Safety - We do what is safe and care for each other.Quality - We do it right first time.Ownership - We are committed and responsible for our actions and success of the business.Collaboration - We work together with transparency and respect, embracing our diversity with openness and honesty.Continuous Improvement - We constantly seek opportunities to drive business excellence.About the RoleThis position reports to the Pure Nutrition General Manager with a dotted reporting line to the GM Innovation Yili Oceania Business Division, has one direct report (R&D Officer) and is based at Pure Nutrition in Rolleston, with travel, as required, to other sites within the Yili Group including Glenavy and Hokitika.The Research and Development Manager leads the development of new products and is responsible for the establishment of R&D internal compliance systems, the development and maintenance of raw materials and packaging materials specifications. The role also provides technical support for production, logistics, procurement, market, product quality and regulatory matters. Key Responsibilities:Lead the development of new products of Pure Nutrition, including the infant, follow-on, GUMP formula and other nutritional products development for China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Myanmar and other regions. This includes compliance with the local laws and regulations in relation to in the formula development evaluation, packaging audit, raw and auxiliary materials supply confirmation.Lead the formulation registration to new and exciting market.Development of the internal R&D process, procedure and reporting system. Provide analysis of food regulations of current and potential markets for product entry. Facilitate the dissemination of the analysis information to the wider management and quality teams in an effective manner. Assisting in the preparation for site audits. Responsibility for the development and maintenance of raw materials & packaging materials specifications. This includes developing related raw materials, writing technical contracts and quality agreements, etc. Technical & regulatory support for production, logistics, procurement, market product quality and regulatory matters. Including responsibility for the compliance audit of products, raw and auxiliary materials, and packaging. About YouWe are looking for someone who has:A Bachelor of Technology, Food Science and Technology or similarProven Technical or Quality background Experience in Dairy Industry especially Nutritional's or Fortified Milk powder productsExperience with Chinese Infant Formula SAMR registrationFamiliar with Formulations tool, recipe management, dossier preparation and ingredient attributesAbility to work both independently and cross functionally with other teamsAble to effectively communicate (verbal and written) in both Chinese Mandarin and English The ability to work co-operatively as an excellent team member and perform any task within the process as directed by the General Manager and GM Innovation Yili Oceania Business DivisionAnalytical ability and problem solving (root cause analysis, process improvements & corrective actions)Good project management skills, involving key stakeholders in the processFlexibility and adaptability, ability to work under pressure and be responsive to organisational contingencies as they ariseAt Pure Nutrition we genuinely care about our people, we offer a modern working environment, training and development, and support a culture that wants you to grow with the organisation.
