This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician/Research Associate who has an interest in Life Cycle Assessment ('LCA'). You will demonstrate initiative, independence, interpersonal skills, and innovativeness as you work with others within the Environmental Science Teams at AgResearch to support the delivery of successful R&D proposals.
What you will be doing Contributing to the development of research proposals relating to LCA and greenhouse gas emissions from NZ pastoral systems.
Providing analytical and technical support to the LCA Scientists.
Interpreting results and preparing reports for a range of stakeholders.
Collaborating with national and international colleagues around LCA and GHG mitigation options, and circular bioeconomy practices.
Required experience and qualifications At least 3 years' experience as a Senior Technician/Research Associate in a relevant field.
Preferred capabilities and experience Proven track record of research and development in farm system science, life cycle assessment or environmental studies.
Specific knowledge and experience in the application of LCA would be beneficial, but not a requirement.
Competency in report writing for external stakeholders.
Coding experience would be an advantage.
Competency in data collection, processing, and statistical analysis.
Uses scientific methodologies for all research, including literature searching; hypothesis-based experimental design and statistical analysis; and follows rigorous development and documentation procedures for research protocols.
An eye for detail and commitment to delivering work to a high degree of quality.
