Do you have experience in entomology? Are you looking to delve deeper and learn more about insects plaguing a number of New Zealand's primary industries? If so this may just be the right opportunity for you.

We are looking for someone to provide research and technical assistance to the Insect Dynamics, Ecology, and Sustainability team at the Lincoln Research Centre. The job entails supporting research in sustainable pest management and biosecurity.

What you will be doing | Nga whainga matua

a combination of desktop, practical laboratory, insect rearing, and possibly field tasks;

field observations, sample processing for analyses;

plant husbandry, plant propagation, agrichemical application;

data collection (desktop and laboratory), and data entry/management;

contributing to client and progress reports, preparing materials for growers.

What you will bring | Nga tino pukenga me nga wheako

Honours Degree in entomology, ecology, or equivalent and/or relevant experience

Experience and competency in basic entomology skills, for example, insect sampling, handling, and identification, and use of microscopes

Meticulous and accurate laboratory procedures and data recording

Basic plant husbandry skills

Experience in integrated pest management an advantage

Full New Zealand driver's licence
