Role OverviewResponsible for facilitating the Watercare release and change processes and driving a culture of transparency and visibility of releases. The role is supported by the Release and Change manager and has environmental responsibility to ensure release and change accountability is clearly assigned. The role will review submitted changes to make sure change sign-off, approvals, risks, and communication plans are in place prior to authorization.
Key ResponsibilitiesContribute and maintain change policies and plans, giving a clear sense of direction and purpose across the teams.Work closely with Delivery Leads and Product Owners to deliver the incremental releases through the Pre-Production and Production environments.Ensure that Pre-Production release requirements are met prior to a solution release being moved into production.Drive and provide visibility of real-time measurement across the release management processes.Escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and help drive relentless improvement.Remove obstacles or roadblocks to ensure delivery of what is important to customers ensuring valuable capabilities are delivered at pace.Constructively challenge key stakeholders on issues.Lead a collaborative planning process, prioritizing the work that needs to be released against the capacity and capability across the squads.Passionately motivate and lead the Release Management processes and stakeholders, creating an environment where the squads can continually learn, improve, and thrive.Champion and consistently drive Change Management best practice principles and methodologies throughout the organization.Support the Change Manager in day-to-day duties.Minimum RequirementsPrevious experience leading Release Management across large, complex programmes.Excellent leadership skills, communicating clear strategy and purpose.Comprehensive experience leading and facilitating large multi-disciplinary teams and in developing and motivating individuals.Proven experience using agile project management methods, whilst understanding the fundamental principles behind what they are trying to achieve and why they are valued.Experience in release management, demonstrating proactive engagement to deliver outcomes.Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity, applying both pragmatism and bold direction when appropriate.Hands-on experience working within and collaborating in an agile environment.Hands-on experience leading effective release management throughout the life cycle of a product.Strong facilitation skills, presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Sound understanding of the digital landscape, open source technologies, and modern practices around continuous deployment.Passion for driving teams towards high performance.Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; strong organization skills; ability to plan forward and manage deadlines; attention to detail.BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary and staff benefits package including:
