There is support available for training courses required for programme entry to Cardiothoracic training. This is an excellent opportunity to experience cardiothoracic surgery whilst working in a supportive environment.

Want to experience more of this field than a 3 or 4-month rotation?Opportunity to complete your Part 1 studies in a supportive environment.Opportunity to complete a required rotation in our intensive care unit.As one of the three dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgery Registrars in a team of four, it is expected the successful candidate will become an integral member of the service.Our ideal candidate will have: Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz.A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and ideally applicants will already have Registrar experience in this speciality; however, this is not essential.It is a requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion. Utu whanui | Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association & 20 DHB Multi Employer Collective 18 June 2024 - 31 July 2026 (NZRDA SECA) and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand and 20 District Health Boards Multi Employer Collective Agreement 14 February 2024 – 28 February 2026 (the STONZ SECA) and the salary will fall between $127,338 - $240,440 dependent on relevant experience.
