Wealso attend a range of scheduled lists as part of an anaesthetic team in otherareas of the hospital campus. There is some off-site work, just for addedvariety so having your own transport is an advantage.The hours of work are 8-hourshifts, working predominantly Monday to Friday morning and afternoon shifts. Afterhours we provide a reduced acute service. There is both a night shift andweekend component to the role. You will be rostered to these shifts once youhave acquired the necessary skills.We are a large friendly team looking to add full time staffto support our service. A 6-week orientation is provided and overseen by ourNE. Our CNS ensures that your skills continue to progress after this period. Wealso work as a DEU to support student placements. We currently have 5 CLN's whowork a mix of shifts on the floor and are rostered off the floor to meet keystudent assessments and meeting schedules.Ko wai koe| About YouThisrole will be both challenging and demanding so we are looking for someone whocan deal with change and collaborate and work in partnership with SMO's and thesenior nursing team to provide optimal patient care for our service users.Itwill be an advantage to have at least 5 years' post graduate experience,preferably in PACU or a higher dependency surgical area.Youshould be regularly performing the NIC role in your current area and beactively involved in quality initiatives and preceptorship.You shouldbe able to demonstrate an evolving nursing knowledge through yourprofessional development activities and give evidence of an ongoing awillingness and commitment to learn new skills.Possessstrong assessment, observational and organisational skills to successfullyprovide the highest quality of care whilst working under pressure.Providea solution focused approach to your work and decision making with theability to problem solve and think on your feet.Registeredwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC, and current workvisa where required.FromJuly last year the Canterbury DHB transitioned across to Te Whatu Ora - HealthNZ.
