Mo te tunga |About the role AshburtonHospital services the Mid Canterbury Region, which is home to just over 30,000people, from the Rakaia River, to the Rangitata River. You will be part of ateam of Rural Hospital Medical Specialists based at Ashburton Hospital. In thisrole you will be liaising with Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals and providingsupport to general practice teams within the Ashburton District. Inyour down time, Ashburton is a great base for exploring Canterbury with Mt Huttski field only 30 minutes away and the foothills for amazing hiking andbiking. Lake Hood provides the perfectvenue for boating, kayaking and paddle boarding. On-site accommodation will beprovided for the on-call component to the role if you if you aren't located inAshburton. We are seeking a Rural Hospital Medical Specialist or someone who has comparable experience tojoin us in Ashburton. This role is a 0.6 FTE position for 1 year to cover parental leave. In this role you will be overseeing the Acute AssessmentUnit and managing your Teams' patients on the Wards. Support of our RMO's isintegral to this role. You will be involved in our RMO training curriculumusing our state-of-the-art Simulation Suite, leading training sessions andSupervising. In this role you will work in a collaborativepartnership with the both the hospital and wider community services.
