Registered Nurse, Ward 29/Surgical High Acuity Nursing Area (SHANA) at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral, Manawatu / Whanganui Registered Nurses Have it all with a great career and lifestyle.... at MidCentral! Ward 29 and the new SHANA unit may be the place for you! You will be working across both the ward and the SHANA unit SHANA is a high acuity surgical area, which cares for patients who need comprehensive monitoring and nursing intervention, but do not require ICU or HDU care. You will use advanced patient assessment skills, provide heightened nursing vigilance, and use critical thinking and reasoning skills to deliver individualised and holistic nursing care. SHANA is a 5-beded, nurse-led unit staffed by two Registered Nurses, utilising high acuity monitoring.
Requirements Minimum one year's recent surgical nursing experience as a New Zealand registered nurse.Advanced Analgesia, CVAD, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy and IV cannulation certifications (or working towards)Excellent communication skills; showing an ability to effectively work in collaboration with other health professionals and in a team environmentRole Various FTE available permanent and to cover maternity leave, working rostered and rotating shiftsIncludes a comprehensive orientation package with ongoing support from clinical coaches and nurse educatorsOur Organisation Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions.
