Ko te kaupapa About the role Te Awhina, the acute in-patient mental health Ward located on the campus of Whanganui Hospital, is seeking experienced, suitably qualified, culturally adept, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, to join their supportive and skilled team. Primarily this role provides practical mental health recovery support, facilitating measurable and successful outcomes for tangata whai ora and their whanau. With an understanding of the challenges faced by people with lived experience, this role requires outstanding communication skills, as well as a supportive, respectful and conscientious manner. Ko koe tenei About you The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes and skills : The ability to establish sound, trusting relationships with tangata whai ora and their whanau, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in our community Registration or Enrolment with the New Zealand Nursing Council (and the necessary Visa to work in New Zealand) Proven experience within Adult Mental Health and Addictions or other Nursing experience and a willingness to learn and experience mental health nursing The ability to work as a member of a team with a strong sense of professional boundaries The desire to actively engage in professional development and ongoing training For a committed, dedicated, robust and resilient Nurse, this opportunity offers a rewarding and satisfying working environment and more.
