Do you want a PACU role that provides you the time and resources to give the level of care you've always wanted? Here's a fantastic opportunity for an RN to join our supportive PACU team at Mercy Hospital in Epsom on a permanent 1.0 FTE basis. You'll work rostered 8 hr & 10 shifts across 0730 - 2030, primarily Mon-Sat. The roster is published 3-4 weeks in advance, with the ability to self-request shifts and shift swap with other RNs. There is occasional overnight on-call, but no rostered night shifts.Surgical specialties at Mercy include: General, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedic, Reconstructive Head & Neck, Colorectal, Oncology etc...About you: To be eligible for this position you will have:Registration as an RN in NZ with a current APCA minimum of 12 months current experience in PACU within a NZ hospital (or e.g. Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada)Experience recovering the unconscious patient and managing an airwayStrong acute care skills - allowing you to think on your feet; make effective decisions and advocate for your patients to ensure optimal outcomesGreat communication skills and the ability to cope with a busy and ever-changing environmentIdeally - certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS level 6) and/or certified in paediatric advanced life support (PALS), however the opportunity to obtain certification is availableAbout MercyAscotWe're part of the Healthcare Holding Group Limited and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres across three sites (and growing) including ICU, HDU and cardiac intervention facilities.
