This role offers you rewarding opportunity to work within adedicated multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate and comprehensiveservices to older patients with mental health conditions with a focus onwell-being and improving quality of life for our patients and their families.
You will be available to work all shifts (morning, afternoon andnight shift) as rostered with no on-call duties, allowing you to maintain awork-life balance while making a meaningful contribution to patient care.
The Older Persons - Mental Health Inpatient Unit, at AlexandraHospital in Richmond, provides psychiatric and geriatric care and support tothe older population of our community. We aim to provide high quality inpatientcare to patients with acute mental health needs and/or complex age-relatedhealth conditions. We work in partnership with our patients and their families toachieve the best possible health outcome for the patients. We also work closelywith other healthcare providers and supports to ensure a holistic andpatient-centered approach to mental health care.

You will have current NCNZ registration and practisingcertificate, with no conditions that exclude Mental Health Scope of Practice,and a minimum of one year - s post-registration nursing experience in mentalhealth nursing, preferably with older persons.
You will have knowledge of: Physical and mental disorders commonlyexperienced in older persons Contemporary treatment approachesincluding person-centred care, sensory modulation, therapeutic use of selfand therapeutic use of psychiatric medications Mental Health assessment and careplanning Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment andTreatment) Act, 1992 PPPR Act - Welfare Guardianship.
Your skills will include: Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively inmulti-disciplinary team and handling challenging situations with empathyto deliver patient-centred care.
