About the role Right now, Health New Zealand Northland is looking for a Registered Nurse with experience working in a New Zealand Intensive Care setting to join our busy team at Whangarei Hospital.
Whangarei Hospital is a Level 2 ICU with an incorporated HDU. We have a flight retrieval service which is run from the ICU and a separate Patient at Risk team based in the unit.
Our modern eight bed Level 2 Critical Care Unit admits around 500 patients per year with a vision to expand our admission capacity. We also provide nursing and medical cover for a busy flight retrieval service in conjunction with the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) – overseeing approximately 480 helicopter transfers per year.
We are mainly an adult ICU but also admit paediatric patients.
Experienced ICU nurses with excellent communication skills will have the opportunity to join the flight retrieval service.
About you If you are motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about Intensive Care nursing then we want to hear from you.
You will have a post graduate qualification in ICU Nursing and you will be competent to manage complex ventilation and patients on CRRT.
