He aha te tunga | About the role Working across all areas of nursing services provided by Te Whare Haumau Nurse-led clinic, the Registered Nurse (RN) supports and delivers clinic services alongside the rest of the team. Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to: Nurse triage Childhood immunisations Well Child Checks Before School Checks Sexual health and contraception Smoking cessation Cervical Screening Rheumatic Fever prevention and healthy skins Service co-ordination Health care promotion and education Application of kaupapa Maori interventions within a clinical setting Reporting Nga pukenga me whai | The ideal candidate requirements: Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate Current First Aid Certificate Previous nursing experience within a community setting Knowledge of tikanga/kawa as a minimum along with the ability to successfully work within a Maori organisation Clean full NZ Drivers Licence Have a passion for working with the Kawerau community and surrounding areas Strong relationship and network management, able to develop working relationships with whanau, internal and external stakeholders Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Working knowledge of Medtech Excellent computer literacy skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office functions Excellent organisational and time management skills High attention to detail A commitment to safe work practices Empathy, showing respect for clients and their whanau Knowledge and awareness of tikanga Maori culture and history, and an understanding of Te Reo Maori is required The successful candidate will also hold or be working towards: Well Child Tamariki Ora Qualification Authorised Vaccinator Sexual Health Certificate Cervical Screening Certificate You will be professional, trustworthy, confidential, self-motivated and remain calm in times of stress.
