About the RoleWe are looking for an exceptional Registered/Clinical Psychologist who has experience in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, risk management and treatment recommendations for young people as requested by the Youth Court, taking into account the psychosocial issues are relevant to their development and wellbeing.
You will be required to complete medico-legal assessments such as fitness to stand trial etc as requested.
This is a full time (40 hours per week) role based in Whangarei, however there is flexibility within the role for part time or job share as well as the role potentially being based in the mid or far north of Northland.
Te Roopu Kimiora is a secondary care mental health service seeing young people/rangatahi 0-18 years old who have severe to moderate mental health concerns.
We work closely alongside the young person and their whanau to achieve goals that are set collaboratively so they can live to their fullest potential.
About You Our ideal candidate will:Be registered with the NZ Psychologists BoardProvide a high standard of clinical psychology practice and expertise, contributing to the provision of efficient and effective service within Youth Justice ServiceHave proven experience providing a consultation liaison service to other health services involved in the wellbeing of youth offenders in respect to the legal requirements of the youth who are, or may be subject to, criminal justice orders or processes.Working knowledge and commitment to Tikanga.Working knowledge of key child and adolescent issues and psychopathology.
