Northern Regional Lead – Tactical Intelligence Unit Office of Constable/Police Employee Permanent – Full time JR 5043834 Mo te tunga | About the role The Northern Regional Lead - National Tactical Intelligence will support the national delivery of Police's Tactical Intelligence capability, as a key component of the Tactical Response Model (TRM).
This position will demonstrate systems leadership, ensuring that all Tactical Intelligence processes and outputs support staff safety and the intent of the TRM.
This position enables the mechanisms and personnel responsible for the identification and assessment of staff safety persons of interest and contributes to the enhanced safety of our people through intelligence support to high-risk deployments and emergency incidents.
Regional Leads support district Tactical Intelligence Analysts in the delivery of high-quality Tactical Intelligence which meets the needs of decision makers across multiple operational workgroups. The role requires excellent relationship management skills, ensuring connection with and support to a wide range of stakeholders across Tamaki Makaurau and Northland.
Key Accountabilities: Ensure that the delivery of Tactical Intelligence in district supports staff safety and the intent of the Tactical Response Model.Ensure that Tactical Intelligence processes and standards support the intent of the Tactical Response Model.Provide excellent support and technical leadership to the Tactical Intelligence Analysts, in cooperation and coordination with District Intelligence leadership.Provide high-quality advice and/or leadership in an operational context, including high-risk deployments, emergency incidents, and major events.Establish and maintain relationships across Police and externally which support Tactical Intelligence delivery.Provide professional, technical oversight and delivery of Tactical Intelligence processes, ensuring participation in the review, update, and maintenance of these processes as appropriate.He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring An understanding of, and experience in leading staff and contributing to high performing teams.Excellent relationship management skills, ensuring connection with and support to a wide range of stakeholders.The ability to lead through influence.A resilient attitude and the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.An experienced intelligence professional with a strong understanding of crime science and Tactical Intelligence processes and techniques.Bring a mindset of continuous improvement and be innovative in your thinking.Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only). You may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, orA Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, orA citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is "to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them."

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $110,425 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
