About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.
The Opportunity This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to support our Network Operations Team that includes our Incident Response Team.
As a Network Operations Manager, you will consult with internal and external stakeholders to understand the requirements, utilisation, and resourcing requests to drive forward safe and efficient management of our network. This role is to provide strong leadership for the Network Operations Team working for the alliance. This role is pivotal to building a customer centric focused operation delivered through high performing operations.
Your experience will set a clear direction to ensure the right outcomes are achieved for the ASM.
What you will be doing: The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
Take responsibility for own health and safety and ensure that your actions keep yourself and others safe.Ensure all work is implemented in such a way that risks are identified early, and appropriate mitigations are in place. Understand the complexities of the reactive work environment and how to cooperate with key partner agencies for safety of all responders.Overall management of the Network Operations Team, including staff, deliverables, and the budget.Advocate for the success of a professional incident response service, maintaining the mission of NZTA to deliver a safe, reliable journey for road users.Build strong relationships with key partner agencies, to where operational risks, constraints and outcomes are shared and problem-solving spans across multiple parties.
Provide guidance for investigating the issues on the network to identify the appropriate solutions.Maintain network readiness and preparedness in the event of an incident including operations plans and resource allocations.Attend serious and above road incidents where support for the team is appropriate.
Management of road incidents (vehicle crashes, material spills, asset damage, natural hazards), to ensure efficient restoration of normal traffic operations.Investigate crash factors, produce fatal and serious injury crash reports.Ensure ASM work with Auckland City Mission, Police, and AT, to manage illegal occupation of the network.Provide technical support to the wider business and assist in other areas where appropriate.Such other duties and responsibilities that are from time to time assigned.About You: Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.10+ years relevant experience in road network operations and maintenance.Significant experience in road incident management and recovery operations.Customer Driven - Clearly understands the internal and external customer and is dedicated to meeting their expectations and requirements.Leads Change- Embraces the opportunities represented in change and champions positive change related behaviours in others.Accountability - Faces up to problem situations quickly and directly and doesn't hold back when action needs to be taken.If this is the role you have been waiting for, to work on an exciting large-scale motorway maintenance contract, then apply online today.
