He angitutanga | About the role As our Regional Planner, you will play a central role in crafting and executing strategic plans that integrate our Heritage and Visitor, Biodiversity, Treaty and Community priorities within the Eastern South Island region.
One role will focus on Heritage and Visitors planning, while the other will focus on Biodiversity and Community planning.
You will support the region in ensuring that annual planning aligns with long-term outcomes, while also providing essential support and advice to Managers and Directors.
The positions will be focussed on: Partnering with functional leads (Visitor, Biodiversity, Heritage, Tiriti Advisors) to establish organisational priority uptake across the region, and ensure regional context is driven in functional priorities.
Overseeing performance reporting and provide assurance on progress towards targets.
Ensure capital projects and operational plans meet our high standards.
Reporting & Analysing: Contribute to regional reports by analysing operational and project delivery trends and recommending improvements.
Preparation and writing of regional tasks in support of the Eastern South Island Director and the Regional Leadership team.
Supporting improvement initiatives that may align with conservation outcomes, treaty outcomes, capability and capacity training & skills and culture work at a regional level.
Developing integrated regional plans that harmonize biodiversity, heritage, visitor priorities in alignment with Treaty commitments and community outcomes.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience For the Heritage and Visitor focused role, we are seeking someone with an understanding of capital or project work.
For the Biodiversity-focused role, a basic understanding of biodiversity planning would be ideal.
Both positions are suited for experienced professionals with a strong background in planning and performance improvement.
If you have the following, we are keen to hear from you Solid understanding of conservation management and national strategies.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to an environment of pace at times.
Working knowledge of asset management principles and practices.
Experience in tiriti partner relationships and deliverables.
Proficiency in business planning, financial management systems, and performance reporting.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to integrate and present data insights effectively along with report writing.
Proven experience in local government, council, or iwi organisations, particularly in long-term planning and consultation operational delivery Knowledge and understanding of Treaty Settlement and implementation context.
Current driving licence.
Mo te tima | About the team The regional planning and performance team is a new team of five based throughout the Eastern South Island region.
We work really closely with six operations teams who we support to deliver great conservation outcomes around our unique and diverse region.
