Based in Invercargill and reporting to the CEO, this is a key role within the Senior Leadership Team.Initially, four days per week will be focused on engineering for clients and the remaining one day per week will be focused on sales, networking, and building the region. As your pipeline of work in the region grows, you will grow and support a team of Southland-based engineers.Once you have brought on three additional engineers in the region, your role will shift to 100% focus on growing the region further and making sure we're doing a great job for our clients.The Role and What We are Looking ForYou will have proven mechanical engineering knowledge and experience across a diverse range of industries. This includes the ability to be the Technical Lead for your team of engineers.As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be involved in the business at a strategic level and report to the Board on your strategic goals and initiatives.While extensive mentoring in sales will be provided to you, you will have a natural aptitude for it. Meaning, you will have a high energy personality, be a good problem solver, excellent communicator and negotiator with a growth mindset. You will be confident in articulating the value proposition to prospective clients and gain a sense of satisfaction by winning projects and delivering on our commitment to our clients. You will have sales goals to achieve, including sales metrics that drive performance.You will be responsible for a reliable and flourishing pipeline of work. Networking and growing those networks of local engineering businesses will be key. Ensuring your team members are kept productive with a smooth pipeline of work will be a measure of your success.Managing client relationships is a key part of the role. How you manage situations when something doesn't go according to plan will be vital for ongoing positive relationships in the region.In addition to this, you will also enjoy the people/team management aspect of the role. You will be holding pub meetings, team events and Engineering Manager breakfasts.With support, you will be responsible for the interviewing, testing and hiring of engineers. You will also be supporting your team from a technical perspective as well as conducting performance reviews, including wage discussions as well as setting each team member up for success.The PackageAs a Regional Manager, your base salary will be $100k per annum, plus an additional portion of your earnings driven through regional performance (primarily revenue, productivity and client feedback).
