As a Regional Advisor (RA), you will leverage your extensive electoral knowledge and experience to support and advise the Regional Manager, Voting Services National Office team, Electorate Managers, and electorate teams. You will provide operational and strategic guidance, support recruitment efforts, and ensure the smooth running of elections within your region. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality, compliant, and efficient electoral events that meet national standards.
This is a Grade 18 role with a salary band of $124,061 - $137,845.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Regional Manager in fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture across the region.
Assist in recruiting and inducting Electorate Managers and key electoral employees.
Lead employee training at national and regional levels, ensuring all staff are prepared to meet operational requirements.
Develop and implement regional and electorate plans that align with national electoral standards.
Provide leadership and operational oversight during elections, ensuring the integrity of the voting process.
Maintain high standards of risk management, quality assurance, and compliance, including Health & Safety protocols.
Actively contribute to reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and development of electoral processes.

You are a proven leader with experience in electoral operations and project management. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of national standards, recruitment processes, and risk management. You are collaborative, culturally aware, and can easily build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Strong knowledge of electoral processes and experience in electoral project or event management.
Experience in recruiting and training staff in large-scale, high-pressure environments.
Proven ability to develop and implement regional and local operational plans.
A strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and quality assurance processes.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competency, especially in the delivery of services to Maori communities.
