Qualifications & experience 2+ Years experience as a HVAC or Refrigeration technician or similar role
HVAC Qualified Refrigeration Technician or Registered Electrician preferred
Current Electrical registration (EST) or willingness to gain this registration
Refrigerant Handling License or willingness to obtain.
Tasks & responsibilities Installation: Install variety of refrigeration systems, including air conditioning units, commercial refrigeration units, walk-in coolers, freezers etc.
Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating parts, and inspecting systems for wear and tear.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues with refrigeration systems, including leaks, and mechanical failures.
Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely, including proper charging, recovery, and disposal, in compliance with environmental regulations.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain issues and repair processes, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. Provide detailed reports to supervisors or clients as required.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency repair calls promptly to minimise downtime for critical refrigeration systems. Willingness to be rostered on-call.
Full time 40 hours a week minimum employment
