Pass it on.He angitutanga | About the roleYou will be joining our dedicated Pukunui team on Rakiura, leading the delivery of the Pukunui Recovery Project, in efforts to stem the ongoing decline of this Nationally Critical sub species. The last annual count recorded only 101 birds remaining and there is an urgent need to protect them from a wide range of threats. Time is running out for this population.The establishment of this new position is proposed to respond to the increasingly complex needs of a growing recovery project. This is largely an office-based role, with a focus on facilitating the delivery of predator control work and Pukunui monitoring. There will be some opportunities to contribute to the field programme. As a Project Lead, you will lead work delivery, manage budgets, and collaborate on strategic planning with the Senior Ranger to drive the recovery project.The position will be focussed on:leading the delivery of the Pukunui Recovery Projectmonitoring work deliverymanaging contractors and procurementmanaging sponsorship fundsguiding, supporting, and training others within their areas of specialityoverseeing data management and reportingbuilding and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and iwi, whanau and hapu.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceIf you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:Experience in leading complex work programmes.Experience leading pest animal control operations.Proven skills in logistics management.Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.Critical thinking ability with experience in project leadership, including planning, implementation, resource prioritisation, supervision, and reporting within budget and timelines.Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to achieving team objectives.Ability to translate technical information into easily understood concepts for non-technical audiences.Strong commitment to health and safety practices, with the ability to promote this culture among others.A broad range of biodiversity field experience, including species management.Proven back-country experience, including proficiency with GPS.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in conservation, ecology, or biology.Mo te tima | About the teamAs part of the Rakiura Operations team, you will join a tight-knit crew who genuinely enjoy working with each other and are passionate about the work they do.
