We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor and Estimator to join our growing team!
We provide high-quality reactive and planned plumbing services to a variety of commercial clients across the retail, property management, food services, medical, public, and industrial sectors. You should have at least 3 years of Quantity Surveyor or Estimator experience, ideally within the NZ Commercial Plumbing sector, along with strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. You will also need the ability to work on small to medium commercial projects and be ready to hit the ground running.
Responsibilities:
Undertake drawing measurements for tenders.
Prepare tender estimates, analyses, and evaluations.
Review and provide advice on contract claims/approve payments.
Assist with variations and pricing as required.
Perform value engineering for estimates when necessary.
Prepare Bills of Quantities and take-offs.
Review and analyze contracts and tenders.
Assist the Commercial Team with related tasks.
Interpret and apply relevant Standards, Codes, and regulations.
Report and escalate to management any queries related to tenders or projects as needed.
Track and report on project progress, including time, cost, quality, and resources.
Liaise with Main Contractors as required by the Contracts Manager.
Negotiate variation prices.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in a subcontractor organisation.
Knowledge of the Commercial Plumbing, Mechanical, or Fire Service sector (preferred but not essential).
Ability to prioritise and manage changing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Willingness to undergo police checks (due to the nature of some of the work we undertake, police/criminal record checks are mandatory for certain clients).
