About the role
Reporting to the company Director, you will be responsible for the excellence in the execution of the Quantity Surveying services. The primary objective of the Quantity Surveyor is to provide outstanding service to clients while ensuring the successful development and management of project life cycle costs and optimising project budgets.
Day to day responsibilities
Proposal preparation, job delivery, work planning, and financial management tasks
Technical leadership in the areas of cost planning, procurement, and post contract
Demonstrate initiative and provide practical advice to identify solutions to job-specific challenges
Work closely with company Director, Senior QS, and Project Managers
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
About You
We are looking for either a strong, confident Intermediate level QS or early Senior level QS for this position, who are looking for new opportunities in the Bay of Plenty. To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and attributes:
Minimum 7 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering cost benefits
Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification
NZ industry experience
Previous experience on commercial construction projects
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work closely with key stakeholders
Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously but values being part of a team
Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a clear and calm mindset when assessing requirements and priorities
Ability to optimise all aspects of project life cycle costs and value management
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good computer literacy
You will also need:
to be a NZ Citizen, resident, or already hold the appropriate Visa to work in NZ
to have a full clean NZ Drivers licence
