What's the role?
At Zespri, our Global Quality and Technical business units work together to build trust in our kiwifruit and help our global community thrive.
The Quality Systems team plays a pivotal role by implementing and maintaining global integrated quality management systems.
As part of our Quality Systems team, you'll be instrumental in upholding Zespri's high standards.
Your main responsibilities will include: Quality Systems Coordination : Collaborate with the Post Harvest Assurance and Systems Manager to review, update, and publish essential Quality Systems documentation.
Support post-harvest facilities, growers, and the Zespri Quality Management System.
Pest ID Management: Oversee the Zespri Pest ID Programme to ensure accurate pest identification, which is crucial for the Phytosanitary certification of New Zealand kiwifruit.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the formal annual review of the Zespri Quality System, ensuring all changes receive relevant approvals.
Keep Zespri's Global documented Quality System up-to-date for all stages of kiwifruit handling and distribution.
Support the review and enhancement of Zespri's Global Quality Systems, including managing non-conformances and incident management processes.
Conduct accurate pest identifications, maintain specimen collections, and update records.
Assist in training post-harvest pest identifiers and Zespri QA staff, maintaining competency and developing training materials.
Participate in internal and external audits related to pest lab operations.
Contribute to process excellence and continuous improvement across the Quality Systems team.
Ensure best practice record-keeping and documentation.

Who are you?
A tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Food or Science related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years experience in a Quality Systems role.
Sound understanding and passion for Quality Systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Computer literate (Excel).
Good attention to detail and can work unsupervised toward targets.
Effective team member, helps others by being flexible and adaptable.
